Disable Recycle Bin Oracle 11gR2

To disable Recycle Bin on Oracle 11gR2 database you must change the parameter and then restart the instance:

[oracle@host]> sqlplus / as sysdba

SQL*Plus: Release Production on Fri Sep 16 15:52:56 2011

Copyright (c) 1982, 2009, Oracle.  All rights reserved.

Connected to:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, Automatic Storage Management, Oracle Label Security, OLAP,
Data Mining and Oracle Database Vault options

SQL> alter system set recyclebin=OFF scope=spfile;

SQL> shutdown immediate
Database closed.
Database dismounted.
ORACLE instance shut down.

SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 3206836224 bytes
Fixed Size                  2211064 bytes
Variable Size            1795162888 bytes
Database Buffers         1392508928 bytes
Redo Buffers               16953344 bytes
Database mounted.
Database opened.

SQL> show parameter recyclebin

NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
recyclebin                           string      OFF
